ACLS, etc Flashcards
5 H’s in ACLS
- hypovolemia
- hypoxia
- hyrodogen ion –> acidosis
- hypo/hyperkalemia
- hypothermia
5 T’s in ACLS
- Tension pneumothorax
- Tamponade, cardiac
- Toxins
- Thrombosis, pulmonary
- Thrombosis, coronary
Chest compressions, depth and rate
2 inches
100-120 compressions/min
Ventilation during CPR
every 6 seconds (10 r/min)
ACLS Cardiac Arrest Algoritihm
1) Start CPR
2) Check Rhythm to see if shockable
3) Shock and Resume CPR or just resume CPR
Epineprhine in ACLS
Every 3-5 minutes in asystole/pea starting with second round of compressions
dose: 1 mg
ACLS: VF/pVT, medications
Epinephrine
Amiodarone after third shock
Amiodarone dosage in ACLS
300mg initial bolus
Second dose of 150
Drugs for Bradycardia
1) Atropine
2) Dopamine infusion
3) Epinephrine infusion
Atropine dosage
0.5mg for first dose
repeat 3-5 minutes for maximum of 3mg
Unstable tachycardia- consider
hypotension AMS signs of shock ischemic chest discomfort AHF
ACLS Treatment for Unsable tachycardia
synchronized cardioversion
Antiarrhytmics for stable wide qrs tachycardias
Procainamide
Amiodarone (150mg)
Sotalol (100mg)
