Q

How do you calculate the Take Off Distance Required reduction possible due to a flex temp take off?

A

(Tflex - Toat)/10 * 3

Essentially, 10% of the difference between flex temperature and outside air temperature multiplied by 3.

So flex temp of 55degC, OAT of 15degC, TODR of 2000m…

(55-15)/10 * 3 = 12% so 1760m is actual TODR

16
Q

How many start attempts on CEO?

A

4 with 20 second pause between (then 15 minute cooling period)

17
Q

How many start attempts on NEO?

A

3 with 60 pause between attempts (then 15 minute cooling period)

18
Q

If CLOG appears on the ENGINE SD page next to the F. USED indication, why and where is the clog?

A

There is excessive pressure across the fuel filter

19
Q

If CLOG appears on the ENGINE SD page next to the oil PSI indication, why and where is the clog?

A

There is excessive pressure across the main oil scavenge filter

20
Q

Does the NEO have any differences in engine anti ice?

A

Yes

ENGINE SD page shows CORE and BOOST functions.

Where CORE indicates Variable Bypass Valves (VBVs) are used to provide hot air to engine core to prevent ice crystals

And BOOST uses bleed air from 7th stage of HP compressor to improve start performances and provide hot air to the booster

21
Q

Which additional temperature does the NEO have on the ENGINE SD page?

A

Nacelle temperature
