Describe the transcription process

The DNA strand gets split apart by the RNA polymerase which then uses the template strand to build the mRNA strand. The DNA then binds back together into its original double strand structure.

RNA: ribose, AUCG, single strand, multiple types
Both: similar nitrogen bases, made up of phosphate, bases, and sugar, pretty similar structures
