5.3 Cellular Respiration Flashcards
Order the four stages of cellular respiration.
Glycolysis
(Link reaction)
Krebs Cycle
ETC
What happens in Glycolysis?
Glucose breaks down and produces ATP and pyruvate
What happens in the Krebs Cycle?
Releases ATP and CO2
What happens in ETC?
Produces ATP, takes O2 to create H2O
Where does each thing happen?
Glycolysis happens in the cytoplasm, the other two parts happen in the mitochondria.
What is the chemical equation for cellular respirtion?
C6H12O6 -> 6CO2+6H2O
29ADP+29P -> 29ATP+29H2O
What enzyme makes ATP
ATP synthase
What does every part of cell resp make? (Even if a small amount)
ATP
How do you get glucose?
Eating
How do you get oxygen?
Breathing
How do you get ADP?
Breaking ATP
Does a mitochondria with folds on the insides make more or less ATP than one without folds
Folds (more surface area)
What parts of cellular respiration stop when you don’t have oxygen
Krebs Cycle and ETC
