Q

What are the stages of phagocytosis?

A
  1. opsonin binds to the antigen of the pathogen
  2. neutrophil binds to the attached opsonin and engulf the pathogen
  3. phagosome forms around the engulfed pathogen
  4. lysosomes fuse with the phagosome and release lysozymes into it
  5. the lysozymes break down the pathogen and destroy it
