Why Might There Be Conflict
A reduction in natural resources may reduce incomes
Engineering may require relocation which isn’t always possible
There will be setbacks as some flooding/erosion will persist
SLR may bypass any erosion in the future
Maldives Issue
97% of the countrty is threatened by SLR/floods
Money is spent populating 2 most populated cities (Male & Hulukmale)
Other islands are much less populated
How Do People Feel
Urban areas/tourism are given high priority
Traditional income (fishing) and mangroves are given low priority
Different trades will suffer if nothing is done
