Why Should We Accept Environmental Refugees

A

Security for women and children is essential and flooding reduces food.
China is most responsbile for emissions & SLR
Sea defences won’t work and tourism will suffer
Salt-water incursion making farming impossible
High density population makes crime and drugs more likely.

Why Shouldn’t We Accept Environmental Refugees

A

Maldives removed themselves from Commonwealth, reducing sea defences by 20%
Some migrants have moved to Canada, meaning less ideas and less R&D
Why do the government actually want to have - corruption?
Maldives Islamic Stte, however they should be promoting resilience
