The City of Houston and surrounding region has been designated as a Securing the Cities (STC) location by the Department of Homeland Security (OHS). The STC program assists metropolitan areas in establishing sustainable programs to _____ that are out of regulatory control.

The STC program provides technology and training to protect the City of Houston against Radiological or Nuclear (R/N) threats. Houston Police Department personnel are a vital component in the STC mission, therefore officers shall be trained and equipped with Personal Radiation Detectors (PRDs) in order to detect, adjudicate, and record R/N alarms in the manner
set forth by this General Order.
