A

Censorship;
-Journalist censored information form newspapers which nazis didn’t permit.
-radios became desighned to have short ranges, so they didnt pick up foreign stations
propaganda;
-newspaper journalist were given briefings by government about what to write about
-Nazis sold cheap radios to public, where they would make frequent broadcats?

Also by 1939 70% of German homes had radios

-they were used every year to help create unity amongst Germans. (aswell as for propaganda)
-advertised strength of nazi germany army
(1934) nuemburg rally had swastika banners and giant eagles. involving 200,000 supporters, waving 20,000 German flags. Invoked Unity

A

Propaganda:
-covered sports stadiums with swastika.
-Berlin 1536 olympics used this in there stadium which held 110,000 people.
- also for every victory Nazis would do straight arm hails for Nazi ideals
censorship:
- said it was “at their own risk” if the press printed information on olympice before official press report

how did Nazis control culture and Art Attitudes in Germany? (music, art, media, literature and film)

A

-Art censorship: removed 12000 paintings and sculptures not supporting nazi ideas (van Gogh)
-Art Propeganda: promoted culture that fitted nazi beliefs via chamber of culture

-Architecture propeganda: disliked ‘futeristic art’ so built huge bulding with ancient pillars and nazi flag, portray nazi Germany power

-Music Censorship: banned Jazz, as it was seen as works of black(were inferior poeple)
-Music propaganda: encouraged traditional music , like Beethoven, and richard Wagner.

-Literature censorship: berlin student burned 20,000 Jewish book by Freud sigma and albert Einstein, and 20,000 jewish books banned
-Literature propaganda: no new books could be published without approval of chamber of culture

Film Censorship: all films could only be published with Goebbels permission
Film propaganda: the nazi party made there own films, such as in 1933, hitlerjunge Quex, a young nazi member killed by jew, influence young people attitudes
