Brüning suggested, A higher taxes and limits on unemployment benefits pleased no one. As upper and middle class opposed taxes. Working class oppose benefit cut

256 votes to 193 in reichstag from this policy. Making reichstag seem powerless to make policy’s. So it was used less often

Brüjing used article 48 in constitution. Ask president to pass emergency decree in 1930 . By 1932 it was used 66 times

Therefore brünin lost control and resigned may 1932

-Hitler persuade big businesses , that nazis was best hope to protect them from communist rise(More money fro wealthy businessmen) (hudenburg, allow goebbels to use his newspaper for prpoeganda)

-work class: Nazis attracts working class with more traditional German values and promise ‘work and bread’

-middle class were afraid of lost savings and companies. Saw Hitler as someone who could help them, protect them from communists, return to traditional values

-farmers: promised by Hitler that land only removed by Jews. Reassured protection from communists

-young people: Hitler speeches stirring and party exciting. (Rallies full of atmosphere)

-young women: Nazi propaganda claimed voting for NSDAP was best for country and families. Women views this as attractive, but feared at first
