What is an IP ?
Intellectual Property is something that has been physically created and did not exist before, such as a book or film, a handbag, and a car manufacturer name badge. (ideas do not count as an IP because they were not physically made)
Why do designers need to obtain IPR ?
Intellectual property rights. Designers need to obtain IPR to protect their original ideas
What is copyright ?
- Copyright is a legal right that protects work such as books photos drama music films TV programs software, etc
- It lasts for 70 years after the creator dies.
- It provides a framework that aids the management of copyright so that others can be permitted to be able to use it.
what are unregistered design rights ?
Unregistered design rights protect designers from being copied and also cover unauthorised dealings in copied design. Unregistered rights apply for 10 years and cover the appearance of the product
