VGA Connector
Video Graphics Array connector, also known as a DB-15 or DE-15, used for analog video signals. It has a unique blue color and doesn’t support audio signals.
HDMI Connector
High Definition Multimedia Interface, a digital connection that supports both video and audio signals. It uses a 19-pin Type A connector and is commonly used for modern displays.
DisplayPort
A digital video standard that sends packetized video and audio signals. It has a larger interface with hooks for secure connections and a smaller mini DisplayPort variant. DisplayPort is passively compatible with HDMI.
DVI Connector
Digital Visual Interface with multiple types: DVI-A (analog), DVI-D (digital), and DVI-I (integrated analog and digital). It supports single-link (3.7 Gbps) and dual-link connections for different video resolutions and frame rates.
DB-15 Connector
Another name for the VGA connector, typically blue and used for analog video connections. It has 15 pins and is uniquely used for VGA.
DE-15 Connector
The technically correct name for the VGA connector, often referred to as DB-15. It supports analog video signals and has a unique 15-pin design.
DVI-A
A type of DVI connector that supports analog video signals.
DVI-D
A type of DVI connector that supports digital video signals.
DVI-I
A DVI connector that supports both analog and digital video signals.
Single-Link DVI
A DVI connection that supports 3.7 Gbps of throughput, allowing for HD television at 60 frames per second.
Dual-Link DVI
A DVI connection that doubles the throughput of single-link, allowing for HD television at 85 frames per second.
Mini DisplayPort
A smaller variant of the DisplayPort interface, also used for digital video and audio signals.
