2.22.22 Notes Flashcards
Monohybrid cross
Genotype
Letter combination for the gene
Phenotype
The physical expression of the gene (the color of)
Domintant
The gene that its going to get.
(Bb)
Capital B is the dominant so it will get the larger B’s traits.
Recessive
The genes that aren’t dominant aren’t likely to appear.
True Breeding
When you cross two homozygous you will always get true breeding.
Incomplete Dominance
Blending of the two Dominant colors (White rabbit/ black rabbit = gray rabbit)
Homozygous Dominant
Both capital letters are the same
Heterozygous
A capital letter and a lower case
For a trait to be dominant what does it need?
One Capital letter
Homozygous Recessive
Both lower case letters are the same.
Punnett squares
Possible Outcomes!
Genetic Ratio
If all 4 punnett squares are BB the Genetic Ratio is 4:0
Co-dominant
A organism that has two colors being expressed at the same time.
Immunoglobin
Blood protein
