Who has Overall responsibility for Crew safety on an appliance?
The Vehicle Driver and /or Appliance commander
When should Seat belts be checked?
Change of watch or change of riders
What precaution should be undertaken when an appliance must traverse soft ground or negotiate a low structure or obstruction?
Crew members are to dismount to act as lookouts
Can BA be donned on route to an incident?
No
When can the seatbelt policy be relaxed?
- A driver preforming a manoeuvre ie Reversing
- An instructor observing a driver preforming a manoeuver
- A driving examiner conducting a test where wearing a seatbelt would endanger themselves or others
- When a seatbelt becomes defective
What need to be done after a Door ajar warning sounds?
All doors and shutters should be checked then the Shutter open mute button in the pump bay should be depressed
Where can appliance dimensions be found?
Plate in the driving area and the drivers handbook
When does a seatbelt defect go from a code 2 to a code one?
When it is in a Front seat or if the number of belts in the rear cab drops to 2
