What are the three types of stimuli that grasp our attention (focal attention)?
Salient stimuli, vivid stimuli, and accessible stimuli
What are salient stimuli?
Stimuli that stand out to us
What are vivid stimuli?
Stimuli that have an intrinsic property that makes itself stand out, and tend to have an emotional element
What are accessible stimuli?
Stimuli that are easy for us to recall
What type of information is stored in person memory?
Information about a person and a concept of a person’s memory
How is person memory organised?
By the person or by groups
What is person memory crucial for?
Social interaction
What information are we more likely to retrieve?
Information about people that is consistent with our first impressions
