1
Q
types
A
chromoplast
chloroplast
leucoplast
2
Q
Leucoplast
A
- found in non-photosynthetic tissues of the plant such as the endosperm, tubers and roots
- stores starch and lipids
- found in large amounts of fruits cells
- various shapes: Rod like, Oval
- lack grana and photosynthetic pigments
- synthesis of fatty acids and amino acids
3
Q
Chloroplast: structure
A
-a chloroplast is separated from the cytoplasm by its lipid bilayer. the chloroplast contains photosynthetic membranes called thylakoids. when light hits the chloroplast the innermost space accumulates hydrogen ions to use as for energy to synthesis ATP. Thylakoids are surrounded by a solution call stroma. Stroma is made up of enzymes that incorporate carbon dioxide into carbohydrates moecules.
4
Q
Chromoplast
A
give color to things
5
Q
Chloroplast: function
A
carries out photosynthesis in the cell
-produces the color green in the stem and in the leaves of a plant
