The enzymes in peroxisomes break down toxic materials in cells. Peroxisomes absorb the nutrients that a cell has obtained. They are well known for digesting fatty acids. They help in digesting alcohol and amino acids. They also play a part in cholesterol synthesis.

A
Peroxisomes are spherical shaped organelles also known as coccus shaped. It has a lipid Bi-Layer and plasmid membrane. The inside consists of a crystiline core and enzymes that produce hydrogen peroxide.
