If you become disabled during your Single Line Working movement with the pilot on board, what does he do while you are protecting your train waiting for relief?
They stays on the train.
Pilot on board the disabled train, what may additional procedures take place during the rescue?
The Train Authority MUST state the pilot is on board this train.
The Pilot must be moved to the front of the combined trains when it is ready to be moved.
What speed may the relief train travel?
The relief train will always travel at REDUCED SPEED (front or Rear) up until 2 km from the disabled train, stop at 2km then travel at 15km/h.
When the pilot is not on the disabled train, which is stuck in Single Line working area, What is your authority as a relief driver to enter?
Relief driver must have the pilot on board, if the pilot is not at your entrance to the Single Line working then they will be transferred for this move.
The relief driver must have Written Instructions.
Written Instructions are the contents written on a special form that has been dictated to the signaller by TC, Signaller makes a duplicate for Driver and we sign ths Signallers copy.
Level crossings during Single line working for wrong line running trains are protected how?
They are protected by hand signallers we must receive the all right hand signal to pass.
If your train is disabled during Single Line working and your cannot communicate with anyone, how do you proceed?
- Make a PA
- Remain on Train
- Continue to call
If during Single line movement you become obstructed, what authority is needed?
To set back you need to call Train Controller, the authority needed will come from the Rail Safety Mangers, special instructions
