After a train is declared disabled in the MURL, what is the first form?
DRA from Area Control, you’re in their world.
Where does a disabled driver stand to protect their train in the MURL?
First Home signal at stop which is protecting your train.
When you meet a disabled train/driver in the MURL and have cancelled the DRA, Confered, Coupled train and conducted a brake test, who do you call?
You call the Area Controller in the MURL.
How many motor cars can be operated as a joined trained at once in the MURL?
Max of 8 Motor cars.
This is two 6 car trains coupled up.
If you have more than five motor cars operating in the MURL, what must you do in regards to powering?
You must not power beyond the Low Power Notch.
When making a wrong line moves with a combined train in the MURL what is your speed limit?
15kmh Max
How do you cancel a TA once complete in the MURL?
TA’s in the MURL are cancelled by calling the Area Controller and writing:
- Cancellled
- Time
- Date
- Signature
When providing relief from the Rear from outside the Underground Loop, what must you obtain and from who?
You need a TA prior to entering the loop in this scenario, the Area Controller will dictate the TA.
When relieving a disabled train from the rear, what will the signal show where the disabled train driver is waiting for you? What is exception to pass and what Authority?
The signal will be at stop, because the disabled train will be in next section (Track circuited
The Exception to pass this is Track Circuit no low speed caution (assist)
The Authority to pass is verbal from Area Control
If you derail in the MURL, who must you contact immediately? Who’s Instruction will you follow. What might be the best way to contact them?
If you derail in the MURL Area Controllers will instruct you, this is your first call. If you are unable to contact them you should make a TEC call to minimise delays.
If your train is disabled or derailed in the MURL and all communications fail, what do you do?
- Make a PA.
- REMAIN on the train (too much danger)
- Continue to try call AC
If a white Indicator Light is Illuminated at the end of your platform in the MURL what does it tell you and what do you do?
This Tells you there is a loss of power in the overheads.?
- Do not leave the safety of the cab
- Immediately advice Area Controller via TEC
- PA, tell passengers to remain on the train
- Continue to call Area Control and Keep passengers informed.ot leave
