State the Objective of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
Promotes standardization throughout squadrons for maintenance procedures. Like a NATOPS for maintenance.
Describe the Organizational level of aviation maintenance
Maintenance that can be performed within the squadron itself
Describe the Intermediate level of aviation maintenance
Maintenance that is beyond the squadron’s assets must be sent to FRC
Describe the Depot level of aviation maintenance
Maintenance that must be sent to the original manufacturer for repair or replacement
State the basic responsibilities of Maintenance/Production Control
“maintain full mission capable aircraft”
Discuss the purpose of a Daily Inspection
To inspect greater then turnarounds. Good for 72 hours provided no flight occurs, 24 hours once flown.
Discuss the purpose of a Turnaround Inspection
Done between flights or after maintenance, good for 24 hours provided no flight has or maintenance has occurred
Discuss the purpose of a Special Inspection
Maintenance scheduled at prescribed intervals. ex. Calendar or phase, flight/operating hours, number of cycles/events
Discuss the purpose of a Conditional Inspection
Un-scheduled maintenance (hard landing, bird strike, etc.)
Discuss the purpose of a Phase/ISIS Inspection
maintenance requirements divided into smaller packages, cover specific sections of the aircraft ex. Main/tail rotor rigging
Discuss the purpose of an Acceptance Inspection
Inspection when receiving aircraft for the very first time ever, either from another command or usually from the manufacturer
Discuss the purpose of a Transfer Inspection
Inspection when transferring the aircraft to another command
Discuss the purpose of a PDM Inspection
Programmed Depot Maintenance- require skills, equipment or facilities not normally possessed by operating locations
State the purpose of the Functional Check Flight (FCF)
Check repairs that cannot be checked on the ground
State the purpose of the Aircraft Discrepancy Book (ADB)
located in NALCOMIS; contains maintenance history, current gripes, MRC’s, etc.
State the purpose of the Aircraft Log Book
Records the aircraft’s flight hours, as well as various other records
State who is authorized to release an aircraft safe for flight
personnel designated in writing by the CO
