What is the potable system?
Stores, delivers, monitors, and controls drinkable water for galley and lavatory components.
What pressure is the potable water tank?
20-50 psi
What PSI triggers the pressure relief?
60psi
On most aircraft what type of valve is the fill/overflow valve?
4 port machined body with a rotary core.
What does the header do?
Dstributes water to the toilet, the water heater, the mixer valve, and via the faucet into the washbasin.
How much can the sink heater tank hold?
1.5 litres
What is wastewater known as?
Grey water
What is grey water used for?
Used to assist toilet flushing or is drained overboard.
What two types of toilet waste systems are there?
Flush motor toilets
Vacuum Toilet systems
How long is the flush in a flush motor toilet?
8-12 seconds 9 litres
What prevents clogging of the filter basket?
A wiper
Because of the water/disinfectant mix how many times can the toilet be flushed before it must be drained?
100 times
What is the vacuum flush toilet controlled by?
FCU, flush control unit
What is the blue ice phenomenom?
Formed if there is a leak at the waste drain valve assembly and the aircraft is flying at altitude.
