Shoulder bones
Clavicle: collarbone
Scapula: shoulder blade
Humerus
largest arm bone; extends from elbow to shoulder
Radius
small bone on thumb-side of forearm
Ulna
small bone on pinky-side of forearm
Carpals
8 small bones forming the wrist; scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, and hazamate
Metacarpals
5 long, thin bones forming the palm of hand
Phalanges
14 bones that form the fingers; each finger has 3 and thumb has 2; proximal are 5 closest to hand, 4 middle (not in thumb), and distal are the 5 at tips of fingers
Femur
Thigh bone; largest bone in body
Patella
Kneecap; sits over the front of the knee joint
Tibia
Shinbone; inner and larger of the 2 leg bones, extending from the knee to the ankle
Fibula
Outer and narrower of 2 lower-leg bones; extending from knee to ankle
Talus
Ankle bone; sits above the heel bone and forms the lower part of the ankle; talus, tibia, and fibula form the ankle joint
Tarsals
7 bones that make up the mid-foot and rear foot, including talus, calcaneus(heel), navicular, 3 cuneiform bones and the cuboid
Metatarsal
5 long, slender bones (1 for each digit) that connect the phalanges to the tarsals
Phalanges
14 bones that form the digits or toes; 2 phalanges in the big toe and 3 in the 4 other toes; proximal, middle, and distal
