How might aging affect sleep?
- elderly may take frequent naps (sleep less at night)
- get up more at night to use the restroom
- hormonal changes can cause difficulty sleeping
- lack of regular, moderate exercise
What dietary habits can make it harder to fall asleep?
- drinking or eating products w/ caffeine
- eating heavy meals before bedtime

What should you not place on overbed tables?
bedpans, urinals, and soiled linens
When does a unit have to be completely cleaned and disinfected?
when a resident is transferred, discharged, or dies
