Mark the pig for further inspection procedures
If an animal is found with welfare problems at antemortem, What do you do? (Lameness/prolapses/pregnancy/trauma)
Won’t be rejected, and can still be slaughtered but must be reported so an investigation is carried out
Report to trading standards (LA) and/or APHA
If welfare is compromised then animal can be moved to front of the slaughter line
What requirements are there for animals being accepted into the slaughterhouse
Must be properly identified
Must have relevant documents- FCI
Not come from areas under disease control
Must be clean and healthy
Be in a satisfactory state in regards to welfare
