Polyurethane varnish application
Apply a thin coat with a brush in the direction of the green. Several thin coats can be applied rubbing down with twin coats with fine grade glass paper.
Water based paint application
Applied with a brush roller or spray. Which knots should be treated with Notting solution to prevent the resin is an out and spoiling the finish.
The surface should be primed and an undercoat applied prior to finish.
Stains application
Applied with a brush roller or spray. Surfaces should be grease spray prior to application.
Colour wash application
With a wet sponge
Wax application
Applied with a brush or stocky net cloth then once dry buff with a clean lint three cloth
Yacht varnish application
With a brush or spray directly onto the wood
Danish oil application
Apply with a lint free cloth rub the oil into the surface of the wood in the direction of the grain.
Leave the wood to absorb the oil for five minutes and rub the access oil with a clean cloth
Lightly sand or rub with wire wool to open up the green between coats
Teak oil application
Apply with a lymph free cloth rub the oil into the surface of the wood in the direction of the grain. Leave the wood herbs absorb oil for five minutes then Rob access oil with a clean cloth. This is used for naturally oil wood.

Provides a hard tough heatproof waterproof finish.
Clear finish allows the grain of the wood to be seen through the finish
Water based paints
Paint provides both protection and colour. It can be applied for both indoor and outdoor use and predominantly used for softwood.
Paint makes surfaces more aesthetically pleasing tougher harder and resistant to moisture.
Stains
Help colour and enhance the grain.
Stains can be used to colour an inexpensive word to make it look more expensive. They do not have any protective properties.
Colour wash
Used to help colour the word to make it more aesthetically pleasing or add advantage style while allowing the brain show
Wax
Can be buffed to provide a high gloss finish.
Increases the surface hardness and toughness.

Suitable for words that are outside all year round such as doors, window frames or boats parts
Increases toughness hardness and Wethe resistance
Danish oil
Maintains the natural appearance of the timber soaks into the wood and enhances the grain.
Not a hard wearing finish but regular application and subsequent coats build up mat water resistant finish
