Paper And Board Flashcards
Die cutting process
Dotters use a plywood substrate board into which still cutting dice and creasing rules are inserted. The stock material is placed under the board and a press pushes the board into the stock material which then cuts out the net.
Where parts of the next art to be folded decreasing rules score the paper or card. Decreasing rules are not as high, as the cutting dye and they are also blunt so they do not cut the stock material. Robert pads fixed to the press help to prevent the paper or card sticking as the press moves up or down.
Bending process
The stamp out net is placed onto a folding table. Some cutting presses might be equipped with moving parts to help to bend or fold parts of the net water automatically. Industry larger machines might carry out cutting creasing and folding in one process.
