Q

Cellulose and acrylic paint application

A

The surface of the metal is cleaned and decrease to ensure that the primer has a surface to grip to. The primer is followed by an undercoat in a similar colour to the topcoat.

Paints can be applied by brush or spray.

Q

Electroplating application

A

The product and donor material are placed in a container with an electrolyte solution. As the direct current is applied the product attracts the donor metal and the product is electroplated.

12
Q

Polymer dip coating application

A

The metal product is heated to 230°C. The hot product is dipped into a tank of fine polymer powder which has air flowing through it to provide an even coating to the product. The retained heat from the product melts the polymer powder over the product which is an air code to allow the coaching to set evenly.

Q

Powder coating application

A

The product to be coted is negatively statically charged. Do set polymer resin is positively charged and is sprayed through an air gun. The use of charge results in a strong traction between the powder and the product. The product is them baked in an oven which melts the powder over the product give an even coating.

16
Q

Sealants application

A

Applied with a cloth or machine pad to produce a film that is allowed to cure for up to 15 minutes. It is then buffed with a cloth to shine.

17
Q

Preservatives application

A

Applied by wiping with a cloth spray or immersion of the product.

18
Q

Anodising application

A

The electric current passes through the sulphuric acid electrolyte solution from the part be treated to the negative cathode.

As the current flows from the part be treated, which is the anode to the cord, the aluminium oxide layer buildup on the treated part producing an anodised finished.

it can then be finished with a varnished to provide further protection against surface scratches
