What does a normal menses look like?
· 25-30 day cycle · 4-7 days floow · moderate flow · red · no clotting · not too watery, not too thick · no pain or major discomfort (though fullness ok) · onset around 12-14 years of age
Early Menses could be due to what possible pathologies?
· SP Qi Vacuity
· Heat (Excess or Vacuity)
What distinguishes Early Menses due to Excess Heat or Vacuity Heat?
· scanty, red - Vacuity Heat
· copious, purplish, thicker - Excess Heat
How does heat lead to Early Menses?
heat causes blood to be chaotic & leave the vessel
How does SP Qi Vacuity lead to Early Menses?
blood not retained, and leaves vessel
A patient with pale, thin, copious (flooding) blood and Early Menses most likely has what?
SP Qi Vacuity
Delayed Menses could be due to what possible pathologies? (very generally)
· Blockage - Blood Vacuity
· Insufficiency - Cold, Blood Stasis, or a combination of the two
In Delayed Menses, is the pain worse with Excess Cold or Vacuity Cold?
