All the wines are made from 100% Lake Erie AVA grapes! As the vines on the property mature, more and more of these will be grown specifically by Gideon Owen Winery.

Nope, they’re all pretty dry.
Are any of the Gideon Owen wines barrel aged?
Only the Meritage is barrel aged, in French, neutral, and Hungarian oak.

What is a chardonel, anyway?
A white grape hybrid. It is a result of a cross between Chardonnay and Seyval (which is, itself, a hybrid). It is late-ripening and cold tolerant.

What is Vidal Blanc anyway?
A hybrid white grape produced in the 1930s by Jean Louis Vidal. Because of its cold tolerance, it is very popular across the northern U.S., and in Canada. As it is both cold tolerance and high in sugar content, it is often used to make ice wine.

Traminette is a hybrid grape of Joannes Seyve and Gewurtztraminer, first produced in 1965.
