WHO 2017 MALIGNANT Flashcards
List Malignant odontogenic tumors based on 2017 WHO classification
AC (Ameloblastic Ca) PIOC (Primary intraosseous Ca - NOS) SOC (Sclerosing odontogenic Ca) CCOC (clear cell odontogenic Ca) GCOC (ghost cell odontogenic Ca) OCS (odontogenic carcinosarcoma) OS (odontogenic sarcoma)
Ameloblastic carcinoma types
No types in 2017.
All types being in a single entity now.
Previous types categorized into primary, secondary intraosseous, secondary peripheral.
PIOC as a single entity in 2017. True or Falso.
True. Regardless of precursor of the malignancy (ie radicular/residual/dentigerous/okc),
they are all now considered PIOC.
Diff dx of PIOC
All malignant odontogenic tumors: - Ameloblastic Ca - SOC - CCOC -CGOC Intraosseous mucoepidermoid Ca Metastatic lesion
Sclerosing odontogenic carcinoma
New odontogenic ca
characterized by small single-file cords and strands of epithelium.
Diff diagnosis of SOC
Central odontogenic fibroma Desmoplastic ameloblastoma CEOT CCOC Mets
Diff dx of CCOC
Metastatic renal cell carcinomas
Melanoma
Intraosseous MEC
GCOC
Malignant counterpart of calcifying odontogenic cyst
Odontogenic carcinosarcoma types
Has 3 types
- ameloblastic fibrosarcoma (MOST COMMON)
- ameloblastic fibrodentinosarcoma
- ameloblastic fibroodontosarcoma
