Intermittent swelling & pain
Obstructive - stone, stenosis, foreign body
Mealtime syndrome
A collection of symptoms & signs caused by overproduction of saliva when salivary gland is stimulated (i.e. during meal/ increase apetite) where there is blockage in the salivary flow causing swelling and distension of the parotid glnd capsule.
Signs and symptoms resolve completely after meal
Clinical presentation of mealtime syndrome
Acute pain on parotid/submandibular region with swelling that subsides after meal
