held moisture very well and the situation is very beautiful, it was an optimal settlement, had most of the amenities of a roman city, was more of a resort area for wealthy romans.

Casting bodies
Giuseppe Fiorelli recognized skeletons under the ash, he poured in plaster to make the gas from the bodies escape. this made a hard shell in the ash humanizing the victims.

He places a lot of casts in the museum but a lot of them were destroyed during ww2
Scanning
Through scanning scientists are able to find a lot of information about the bodies
The Forum
Was close to the entrance of the city, it was originally thought to be a Greek township, but recent discoveries have found the city to be much older.
in the Forum the was a temple to jupiter, a basillica, a comitium etc
The Eumachia Building
was owned by a women named Eumachia, was a patron of the fullers, a cloth market,
Theaters
Pompeii had two theaters, the larger one is a older one, it is built in the Greek style, the one next to it was smaller and it was built in the roman style.

could seat 4000 people, had a backdrop where actors changed, it had a Portico behind it

The Amphitheatre
the oldest one nine 70 BCE, the colosseum in Rome was modeled after it , could seat 15-20000 spectators , could hold the whole population of Pompeii, there is only one way to get in through stairs on the outside.
