1) hair becomes hyper-keritinized (thicker)
2) sebaceous glands produce extra sebum, and this along with dead skin cells become sticky and get stuck around the thicker hair follicle and form a plug

Treatment of acne

A

1st line- topicals (mono or combo therapy for mild)
** try a couple before moving to 2nd line
- topical benzoyl peroxide
- topical retinoids
- topical antibiotics
2nd line - oral antibiotics
3rd line - Accutane
