uncontrolled hypertension causes increased risk of…
stroke
heart attack
kidney failure
blindness
other complications
hypertension BP
140-180/80-89
hypertensive crisis
180or/120
what is the etiology of primary hypertension
it is unknown
risk factors for primary hypertension
genetics, smoking, stress, environment, diet
Western diet
decreases lactobacilli(good) and increases enterobacteria(bad)
gluten free diet
decreases lactobacilli(good) and increases enterobacteria(bad)
mediterannean diet
increase lactobacilli so theres more good acteira and higher gut integrity
When suuplying ang 2 to germ free mice and normal mice
blood pressure was reduced when ANG 2 was supplied in germ free
vascular dysfunction and germ free mice
when we supply increasing Ach we see relaxation is impaired (NO signalling does not cause contraction as much) which shows endothelial dysfunction. in germ free mice when given Ang2 no vasc impairment was found
Immune system and gut microbiota
when supplied Ang 2 , germ free mice say lower total cells in kidney
gut microbiota modulates ang 2 induced hypertnesion
