Is defined as water that is safe to drink.
It involves the removal of harmful dissolved solids and ions.

What are the methods of producing potable water from seawater?
A
- Distillation
- Reverse Osmosis (RO)

What is the process of reverse osmosis?
A
Uses high pressure to force water through from low concentration to high concentration through a semi-permeable membrane, that removes/separates salts from the seawater.
-Results in two steams - Freshwater (permeate), salty water (concentrate)
