A

When TCAS is selected and the range selected is less than 80nm

27
Q

TAMS?

A

Thrust Asymmetry Minimum Speed

28
Q

TAMS is indicated by what?

A

Displayed on the speed tape as red vertical bars

Provides limits with situational awareness of the minimum control speed for operation with a large thrust asymmetry

TAMS is always at least 10 knots greater than minimum control speed

29
Q

When is the takeoff configuration warning armed? (5)

A

Airplane is on the ground

FUEL CONTROL switches in RUN

Either engine thrust in takeoff range

The thrust reversers not unlocked or deployed

The airspeed is less than V1

30
Q

Triggers for the takeoff warning system: (6)

A

Entry, fwd or aft cargo not latched and locked

Leading edge/trailing edge not in takeoff position

Parking brake set

Rudder trim not centered

Speedbrake lever not DOWN

Stab not in green band

31
Q

Can you silence a takeoff CONFIG warning?

A

No.

The WARNING lights can be reset, but it does not silence the warning or clear the EICAS message

Only way to silence the warning is to reduce thrust

32
Q

CONFIG message will remain displayed for _______ ________ after reducing thrust

A

CONFIG message will remain displayed for 10 seconds after reducing thrust

33
Q

When is the CONFIG GEAR displayed?

A

Airplane is in flight

Any landing gear is not down and locked, with either thrust lever closed and RA less than 800 feet, or FLAP lever in the landing position

34
Q

Can the CONFIG GEAR be canceled?

A

Yes, provided the message was because the thrust lever were closed at low RA

If the message was due to the flaps being in the landing position, the warning alert cannot be silenced except by the gear down and locked, or GEAR OVRD selected on the GPWS page of the TCP

35
Q

SPEEDBRAKE EXTENDED EICAS? (3)

A

Speedbrake is extended beyond ARMED with RA 15 ft or greater and one of the following:

Radio altitude is 800 ft or less

FLAP lever is in the landing position

Thrust lever angle is 5 degrees or more above the idle stop for 15 seconds

36
Q

Red SPEEDBRAKE Warning?

A

The speedbrake has not deployed during landing or a rejected takeoff

37
Q

What are the parameters necessary for the red SPEEDBRAKE warning? (5)

A

Aircraft is on the ground

Both thrust levers not in takeoff position

Groundspeed is above 85 knots

Speedbrake lever position is less than 35 degrees

All the above occur for greater than 1 second

38
Q

When are MCP selected altitude alerts inhibited?

A

Glideslope is captured

Landing flaps are selected and the gear is down and locked

39
Q

When is PILOT RESPONSE message inhibited?

A

During climb below 20,000 feet when flaps are not up

40
Q

How are the three warning systems prioritized?

A

Windshear

GPWS

TCAS

41
Q

During engine start, which caution and advisory messages are NOT inhibited?

For all others, when does the inhibit begin and when does it end?

A

APU messages and messages concerning engine start or engine overheat. All other messages inhibited.

The inhibit begins when an engine switch moved to START and ends when the engine is at idle or the start is aborted

42
Q

When are TCAS TA voice alerts inhibited?

A

Below 600 ft RA on takeoff and below 400 RA on descent

43
Q

When are TCAS RAs inhibited?

A

Below 1,100 RA in the climb and below 1,000 RA on descent

44
Q

When is the STATUS cue inhibited?

A

Engine start to:

30 min after liftoff

FMC sets cruise mode

Any engine shutdown after start

45
Q

All communication messages except for CABIN ALERT are inhibited when?

A

Engine advanced to takeoff thrust through 400 RA

Until 20 seconds after rotation

On the ground and thrust on both engines reduced to below takeoff thrust

46
Q

When are the master CAUTION and beeper inhibited for new EICAS caution messages?

A

80 knots until 400 RA or 20 seconds, whichever occurs first

If RTO after 80 knots, inhibit continues until less than 75 knots

47
Q

When are the master WARNING lights and fire bell inhibited?

A

The master WARNING lights and fire bell are inhibited at V1 or rotation, whichever occurs first.

The inhibit will end at 400 ft RA or 25 seconds after the inhibit began, whichever occurs first

48
Q

When are new PWS caution alerts inhibited?

New PWS warning alerts?

A
