Hydraulics Flashcards
When L/R ELEC demand pump in AUTO, pump operates when: (5)
System low pressure
On the ground for the first three minutes after the second engine is started
From takeoff thrust until flaps retracted
In descent when gear handle down or RA less than 1000 ft until ground speed less than 40 kts
During thrust reverser operation
What items cause the RAT to deploy automatically?
In flight, if any of the following:
Both engines have failed
All three hydraulic systems pressures are low
Loss of all electrical power to CA and FO flight instruments
Loss of all four EMPs and faults in flight control system during approach
Loss of all four EMPs and an engine fails on takeoff or landing
C1 and C2 Pumps?
Operate as primary or demand pumps
Demand pump selected ON:
Pump runs continuously
FAULT light in L/R ENG hydraulic switch?
Low pump pressure
High pump fluid temperature
Pump is selected OFF
Left and Right EMP roles?
Demand pumps that operate during high load phases of flight and provide system redundancy
Demand pump FAULT light?
Low demand pump pressure
High pump fluid temperature
Demand pump selected OFF
RF indication?
OF indication?
Requires ReFill
Reservoir Over Filled
Both indications are inhibited in flight
How are the hydraulic reservoirs pressurized?
Pump outlet pressure
EMP?
Electric Motor-driven Pump
C1 and C2 primary pump switches in AUTO position?
Pumps alternate as a primary pump and a demand pump
The primary pump operates continuously
When does the C1/C2 pump operate as a demand pump?
System pressure is low
On ground for the first 3 minutes after second engine is started
Takeoff thrust until 2000 ft RA
Flaps and slats in motion
Descent when gear handle down and RA less than 2000 ft until groundspeed less than 60 kt
C1 and C2 Pump FAULT?
Low primary pump pressure
High pump fluid temperature
Pump is selected OFF
Ram Air Turbine PRESS light?
Illuminated when RAT is deployed
Center primary flight control hydraulic pressure is greater than 3000 psi
Ram Air Turbine UNLKD light?
RAT not in stowed position
