Appt 1: Alginate impressions for study models

  • Make wax occlusal rim

Appt 2: Take jaw relation and tooth shade

  • send to lab and ask tech to remove teeth from model, make denture

Appt 3: Extract teeth and insert denture

Post op instructions for Immediate dentures (4)

A
  1. Leave dentures in mouth for 24 hours (otherwise swelling, bleeding, etc)
  2. Avoid smoking, alc, and exercise (extraction)
  3. Ice packs for 20 min/hour for 24 hours then switch to heat
  4. Remove dentures after 24h and clean

  • If removed, tissue may swell and pt will be unable to reinsert denture
