Pre-vocational Program
A
Aimed at developing an individual’s task skills, social interaction skills, and work habits that are prerequisite to work (e.g., independent task initiation and completion, punctuality, etc.)

Vocational Rehabilitation (or “Sheltered”) Workshop
A
- Focused on highly structured, repetitive, concrete tasks that require minimal technical skills (e.g., assembly work).
- Typically for participants with significant cognitive deficits and intellectual disorders that limit their ability to participate in unstructured work environments.

Transitional Employment Program (TEP)
A
- Provides training in a specific job
- Typically time-limited (3 to 6 months) with discharge to competitive employment, supportive employment, or rehabilitation workshops.
