Secondary Prevention
A
- Involves the early detection of problems in a population that have diagnoses that place them at risk for the development of complicating or secondary conditions
- Example: A restraint reduction program for residents of a nursing home. (Nursing home residents already have preexisting conditions and a restraint reduction program’s aim is to prevent the development of secondary conditions, such as deconditioning.)
