A
- temp elevation increases metabolism, thereby increasing oxygen requirements, increasing the HR and RR
- temp decrease slows metabolism, causing less O2 consumption & less CO2 production and decreased RR

BP
A
Hypertension=reduced CO, vasodilation & lower blood volume
Hypotension=insufficient circulation to meet the body’s needs.
Symptoms of confusion & dizziness can indicate insufficient cerebral circulation d/t hypotension

HR & Pulse
A
tachycardia (fast HR) can indicate hypoxia (low O2 levels in the tissue) due to an obstructed airway
bradycardia can be associated with digitalis toxicity
