Who is Livia?
The wife of Julius Ceaser.
What is the Villa of Livia like?
It is partly underground to stay cool, and the whole place is painted in nature sceneries. There are many birds, plants, and a lone straw wall that you can see.
Who is Augustus?
Augustus was the first emperor of Rome.
What is the Head of Augustus like?
It is actually made of bronze, and it is believed that the head of a complete statue was cut off and buried under an egyptian temple.
What does Ara Pacis?
It means the Altar of Peace.
How was the altar recreated?
Parts of it were found buried under a palace, but no one knew what the pieces made. When they found out a few years before WW2, they excavated it and built it.
What are some of the decorations of the Altar?
There are portraits of many noble figures and divine beings. You can see many children and adults walking all around in the statue and it makes you feel surrounded.
