How is a manuscript made?

A

Several sheets of parchment are folded and put together, this is called a gathering. The gathering is then attached to the ‘spine’ of the book at the top and then covers are added.

A

Medieval Calendars are religious maps based on the Bible, etc.

A

There are several columns; one represents the day, one representing celebrations/holidays/events, one represents the current phase of the moon, and there are a few others.

What is different between Modern and Medieval calendars besides the religious base?

A

Medieval Calendars were lavishly illustrated and scenes of the month are often depicted. The month’s zodiac sign was also showed. Also, a whole calendar depicted only one month in medieval times.
