A

Autoimmune blistering diseases

Impaired adhesion of the epidermis to the epidermal basement membrane

Autoantibodies target structural proteins that promote cell matrix or cell-to-cell adhesion in skin

Characterized by substantial morbidity & mortality

Negative Nikolsky sign

A

Bulbous Pemphigoid

Ref to derm if severe and treat with oral steroids and immunosuppressants

If mild group I topical steroid
