Mettere - Refers to something Physical. For example, to put something on the table, to put on clothes, to put something in order.
Porre - Can be physical, but also figuartive - “To Pose, Lay”, Porre una domanda. Porre le basi (Lay the foundations)

Somewhat interchangeable
Mandare most used everyday. Can be used if you send a person to do something.
Spedire can be used specifically for mail.
Inviare is more formal, as well as sending emails, texts.

Both mean to understand.
Capire is more common.
Comprendere also means “Include”

Sapere - To Know Something - Needs direct object

Ammettere - To admit (allow in); admit (eg, guilt); Suppose, assume. To accept (tolerate).
Concedere - To allow someone to do something, to grant (concede that); To allow oneself.
Consentire - (Intransitive) - To agree, consent to something. (Transitive) - To permit, allow
Permettere - To permit, allow.

Imporre - To Impose, Force, Set

Basically same…Accorgersi may be a little more formal, or more emphatic

Can both mean to drive.
Guidare is more of a generic (I know how to drive).
Condurre can mean to pilot a plan or boat, drive a car.
Also to guide conduct (an orchestra), lead an organization, etc.

Basically synonymous.
Iniziare may have slightly more “formal” overtones. To “Open” a debate” To “Open” hostilities. Initiate someone into a group, etc.

Succedere - Not “Succeed”, but to follow something. Succedere a
Succedere - Most common. When not used to mean to succeed someone, used in third person only.
Capitare - To End up, turn up…more “Chance” implied. Can be fully conjugated followed by preposition or adverb or used impersonally.
Accadere - Third person only. More formal. Could translate as “Befall”. Often translated as To Occur.
Avenire - Third person only. May not be used with indirect object. “To come about”.
