bening capillary hemangioma of infancy, appears in first few weeks of life, grows rapidly, and regress spintaneous at 5-8 years old
cherry hemangioma
bening capillary hemangioma of the elderly does not regress
pyogenic granuloma
polypoid capillary hemangioma that can ulcerate and bleed. assoc with trauma and pregnancy
cystic hygroma
cavernous lymphangioma of the neck assoc with turner syndrome
glomus tumor
benign, painful, red blue tumor under fingernails arrised from modified smooth muscle cells of glomus body
bacillary angiomatosis
bening capillary skin papules found in aids patients, cause by bartonella henselae infections, common mistaken for kaposis sarcoma
angiosarcoma
rare blood vellel malignancy typically occuring in the head neck and breast areas. usaually elderly, on sun exposed areas, assoc with radtion therapy, arsenic exposure very aggressive!
lymphangiosarcoma
lymphatic malignancy associated with persistent lymphedema (post-radical mysectomy)
karposi sarcoma
endothelial malignancy most cmmonly of the skin but also mouth, GI and respiratory tract. assoc with HHV 8, HIV
