injury: anterior hip dislocation iatrogenic (pelvic surgery) sensory deficit: upper medial thigh motor deficit: thigh adduction
Femoral
L2-L4
Injury:
Pelvic fracture or mass involving iliopsoac/illiacus muscle (like a hematoma or abscess)
sensory deficit: anterior thigh, medial leg
motor deficit: flexion of thigh and extension of leg (knee buckles)
Common peroneal
L4-S2
injury: fibular neck fracture or nerve compression at the fibula neck
sensory loss: anteriolater leg and dorsum of foot
motor loss: foot eversion, dorsiflection and toe extension
normal: PED
Tibial
L4-S3
Injury: Trauma to knee
sensory deficit: sole of the foot
motor deficit TIP inversion, plantar flexion, to flexion, so no tiptoessss
Superior gluteal
L4-S1
injury:iatrogenic (posterior hip dislocation or buttocks injection)
no sensory loss
motor deficit: thigh abduction
inferior gluteal
L5-S2
injury: iatrogenic (posterior hid dislocation or buttocks injection)
no sensory loss
motor deficit: thigh extensionnnnn
sites for intramuscular injection and damage
Superiormedial - risk injury to gluteal nerves
Inferomedial- risk injury to sciatic nerve
Superolateral quadrant- safe site
