HTN, smoking, diabetes, dyslipidaemia, chronic renal disease, fhx
what are thrombosis risk factors?6 main
obesity, immobility cancer trauma hypercoagulability DVT
vasc sury specific medication questions?
anticoagulants
antiplatelet
diabetic meds
vascular exam includes?
IPAS
inspection: arterial v. venous signs
palpation: pain, veins, pulses, aneurysms, edema
auscultation: bruits: carotid renal AAA, femoral
special tests: elevation/dependency
ankle brachial index >1.3 means?
non-compressible vessel
inconclusive usu. in diabetes due to calcification
what is a normal ABI?
0.9 - 1.3
what ABI is mild peripheral arterial disease?
0.7-0.9
what ABI is mod peripheral arterial disease
0.4-0.7
what ABI is severe peripheral arterial disease
<0.4
