Describe Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

What is Sarcoidosis?

A

-inflammatory disease consisting of granulomas in multple organs especially the lungs, skin, lymph nodes, eyes, and liver
-Onset: middle age, people of color
-S/S: skin lesions, visual changes, diaphoresis, palpitations, joint pain

What are the characteristics of Pneumothorax?

A

-Air in the pleural space
-Caused by a blunt or penetrating chest injury(ex: rib fracture that causes a lacerated visceral(inner layer) pleura)
-Tracheal Deviation is away from the diseased side
