what is vaccination?
A
exposing people to a pathogen, without them catching the disease so that antibodies can create memory cells and we can become immune if the same pathogen returns in the future

what do vaccines contain?
A
weakened pathogens that can’t cause disease

A
protection from catching disease;
control common diseases;
prevent epidemic outbreaks

what is herd immunity?
A
when enough of the population is immune that the pathogen can’t spread

what will happen if someone with an illness is surrounded by immune people and what is it called?
A
the diseasse can’t be spread (herd immunity)

A
vaccines aren’t always succesful
bad reactions can occur as side effects but they are very rare
